Bed Rest Playlist

by Kelly on June 29th, 2007

My sister just got put on bedrest. The only time she can get up is to eat, shower, and use the bathroom. I’ve been trying to think of fun and productive activities for her while she is laying around. She could catch up on some good books or get Netflix for some old movies, learn to sew, or learn a foreign language. I think it would be a good idea for her to learn the words to more songs so she can sing to her baby too! We made a playlist for her bedrest, I posted it in the comments. Some of the songs are about her baby boy and some are just songs we love to sing!

Glove Allows User to Feel Images

by Kelly on June 29th, 2007

A Japanese firm has developed a glove that will make it possible for users to feel the shape and softness of three dimensional objects. The glove is able to function from the sensors that surround it and give the users the ability to feel the objects or people! It will be possible if the user wants to hold their child’s hand for the glove to simulate this action. If the person on one end of the screen moves, the person on the other end will feel like they are being pulled! It will also make it possible at museums for viewers to not only see the mummy, but touch the exhibit through this sensor glove and know how objects felt.

Someone Might Be Watching

by Kelly on June 26th, 2007

Have you ever felt like your computer is running more slowly because of the spy software that your company has installed on your computer? Managers were able to read employee email, block websites, and monitor viewed webpages. Hitachi has gone one step further, with a new device to help company managers keep even tighter tabs on their employee’s productivity. The new device will let the boss know where the employee is at all times, who the employee is coversing with, and the nature of the conversation. Day of Silence for Internet Radio

by Kelly on June 22nd, 2007

June 26, will be a day without internet radio for a lot of internet radio companies. Many internet radio companies will be strained when they are forced to almost triple the amount of money they pay for the license to play music over the web. The Copyright Royalty Board has decided to increase the cost of the license to play music over the web, over the next four years. Bands and solo vocalists are speaking up about how they feel about the increased license amount. Some bands express how the radio has made it possible to share music with fans nationwide and globally which in turn added to their fan base. Internet radio stations are not only worried that they will lose their station because of the increased cost, but that they will lose listeners because of the day of silence.

Create a Playlist for any occasion

by Kelly on June 20th, 2007

I can sit down for 10 minutes and create a playlist for any occasion.  It’s easy to use the customize feature to add your own style to the playlist.  I posted one 80s mix and I also posted a playlist that someone created for school letting out.  I like the style that he used for the playlist.  Someone needs to create a Fouth of July mix for the cookouts next week! Hopefully everyone will have some time off to go watch some fireworks.

Polo Match Playlist

by Kelly on June 19th, 2007

DSC_5084 (Large).JPGSongs that go along with watching the action of a polo match. This past weekend I went to the King Family Vineyards for the Pink Ribbon Polo Match. The weather was perfect as Team Eagle Corporation took on Team Embarq. I had never attended a polo match and it was a fun experience. We packed a cooler full of picnic supplies and picked up a couple bottles of the vineyard wine before claiming our spot to watch the action. Onlookers brought blankets, chairs and umbrellas to set along the field to catch the action. The vineyard had filled the afternoon full of activities besides just the polo match. Instead of a hayride for visitors to explore the vineyards, Clydesdale horses made their way around the field pulling the winners of the raffle and friends along for a view of the beautiful scenery. The vineyard was open for wine tasting, but tours were unavailable for the afternoon. During halftime of the polo match the spectators took part in the divot stomp. Spectators are invited onto the field to help replace the loose divots and chat with other spectators. It was a lot of fun, I will definitely try to attend again next year.
